Students carry out hands-on experimentation and observation to further explore concepts addressed in the Developmental Biology lecture course. Processes such as fertilization, embryonic development, patterning, morphogenesis, differential gene expression, and regeneration are studied. As in the field of developmental biology, a variety of animals are used to study these processes, including flatworms, birds, sea urchins, amphibians, and fish.
