How we verify reviews
Every review comes from a real UMass Boston student, and nobody can see which one.
Only UMB students can post
You sign in with your @umb.edu email. We send a one-time code to that inbox, so only someone with a UMB account can post.
One review per class, per semester
You can review each class you took once for the semester you took it. You can edit your review for 30 days after posting, and delete it any time.
Your name is never shown
- Reviews never show your name, email, or account.
- Who wrote a review is stored apart from the review itself. Only you and the site's moderators can see that link.
- Professors can't see who wrote anything, including professors who claim their profile.
- Reviews show only the month and year they were posted, never the exact day, so timing can't give you away.
Scores need more than one voice
A professor's score only appears once at least 3 students have reviewed them. Below that, you can still read the reviews, but no single review decides the number.
Money doesn't move ratings
No one can pay to change a rating. Not a business, not a department, not a professor.
Are you a professor?
You can claim your profile to add a short note for students, like how you run office hours or what to expect. Claimed profiles are verified by hand. You can't edit or remove reviews, and you'll never see who wrote them.
