ENGIN 353: Introduction to Computational Modeling for Renewable Energy
This course covers relevant principles of engineering, physics, and mathematics to design, analyze, and optimize renewable energy systems. The first part of the course comprehensively covers technological aspects of traditional renewable energy systems. The course follows in the second part with a guided immersion in the decision-making process of renewable energy systems engineering design, computational modeling, and optimization. In the final portion of the course, students are prompted to analyze and interpret data produced by numerical experiments on a particular renewable energy system covered by the class. A special focus will be given to systems based on wind energy.
